Retreats are known to empower, promote a feeling of wellness and inspire people to feel good about themselves. Old habits and attitudes can be replaced with alternative positive ideas that work for you. The retreat can be approached from both a curative perspective but also can enhance an already established healthy life-style.
Valmai has been running retreats for 20 years and is an experienced facilitator in the fasting process, health education, the use of herbs, and the preparation of nutritious food. The retreats at Kimi Ora Spa Resort, Nelson, are relaxed with plenty of personal time, stimulating discussions and options for some fun activities with other participants.
Phillippa Rutherford, naturopath, friend and colleague has been a great complementary facilitator to the fasting retreat over the last 20 years. Phillippa favours the wise women healing approach to health and for the last 10 years has been director of the Chandrakirti Buddhist Centre in Nelson. She is a dedicated student of Buddhist teachings and a practitioner of daily meditation.
Anna de Zeeuw is a certified yoga teacher and an inspiring instructor for beginners through to advanced practitioners of yoga. Her style of teaching is motivating and provides a focus on daily practice, breathing, dynamic and deeply restorative postures.

A chance to dedicate five days to physical, mental, emotional and spiritual rejuvenation through the integration of fasting, yoga, and the full use of facilities at the Kimi Ora Spa Resort. You will experience the curative and cleansing benefits of fasting that stimulates the body to heal damaged cells and rejuvenate itself. Fresh vegetable and fruit juices, herbal teas, and vegetable broths are provided to nourish and support the body without taxing the digestive system. Yoga and fasting are ancient complementary healing systems and are excellent to facilitate moment-to-moment awareness. The best approach to the fasting process is in a supportive environment, with like minded people. Both beginner and experienced fasters who seek to improve their general well-being are welcome to attend the retreat.

A four day retreat that offers participants beach and bush walking, daily yoga sessions, the preparation and sharing of delicious nutritious food and all the benefits of the relaxed beautiful setting of Kimi Ora Spa Resort. You will learn how to enjoy your health, prepare special foods and a range of herbs. Recipes will be provided to inspire you and give you a great daily intake of the wide range of nutrients for a healthy body.
This retreat includes accommodation, meals, daily yoga classes, a massage, a healing foot soak and full use of the facilities at Kimi Ora. Also provided is a wellness booklet to take away with you that covers a daily yoga sequence, the profiles and recipes for special foods, herbs for health and tips for healthy living.
